Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan died last month in Georgia from an accidental drug overdose, authorities said.

The artist, who burst into the hip-hop scene more than a decade ago, was killed by the “combined toxic effects of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, and promethazine,” the Fulton County Medical Examiner said in a statement provided to NBC News on Wednesday.

The manner of death was an accident, according to the medical examiner.

On Sept. 5, the medical examiner said in a statement that Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital had notified its personnel of the rapper’s death.

Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, was 33.

He scored a big hit more than a decade ago with the song “Type of Way.” He followed it up in 2015 with “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh).”
