New York City woman found murdered at luxury Hamptons resort and spa

A slain woman’s body was found inside a guest room at a chic spa and resort in the Hamptons, authorities said Tuesday.

The gruesome discovery of Sabina Rosas, a 33-year-old Brooklyn resident, was made by an employee of Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill, about 90 miles east of Midtown Manhattan, the Suffolk County Police Department said.

Southampton Town Police patrol units responded to the resort at 337 Montauk Highway at about 12:30 p.m. on Monday, officials said.

“Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the murder of a victim whose body was found in a guest room at a Water Mll resort,” county police said. “It was determined the woman was a victim of a violence.”

Still, investigators said this appeared to be a targeted attack and local residents should not be in fear.

“Police patrol units responded to a suspicious death at the Shou Sugi Ban House” with detectives believing it “appears to be an isolated incident” with “no immediate danger to the public at this time,” according to a Southampton police statement.

The Shou Sugi Ban House calls itself “a space inspired by the principles of wabi-sabi and wellness traditions that value the simple beauty and healing properties found within the natural world.”

A representative for Shou Sugi Ban House could not be be immediately reached for comment on Tuesday.
