One of the nation’s most prominent and influential couples is expected to share the spotlight with baseball’s postseason Monday night as the New York Yankees open the American League Championship Series at home.
Major League Baseball said Monday on social media platform X that pop juggernaut Taylor Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce, a tight end for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, are expected to attend.
The Yankees are hosting the opening ALCS game against the Cleveland Guardians in a best-of-seven battle to determine which team heads to the World Series to face the winner of the National League Championship Series between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Swift and Kelce have become a mainstay of high-profile sporting events, particularly in New York City. Last month, the couple kept paparazzi busy with a trip to Arthur Ashe Stadium, where Italy’s Jannik Sinner defeated American Taylor Fritz for the U.S. Open men’s championship.
Each member of the Swift-Kelce phenomenon has put in time supporting the other this year, with 35-year-old Kelce attending some of Swift’s sold-out “Eras Tour” concerts around the world, including in Australia, and 34-year-old Swift supporting Kelce from the stands at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl win in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.
More recently, Swift was back at Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 7 to support the Chiefs as the team defeated the New Orleans Saints, 26-13, at home. Kelce posted 70 yards.
Late last year, the “Eras Tour” became the highest-grossing tour in history, surpassing the $1 billion mark, according to concert industry publication Pollstar.
